MGEN-TWAN
Lacerta MGEN-TWAN special edition
MGEN-TWAN, Special Edition
The new firmware of the MGEN, specially optimized for astrophotography of landscapes, summarizes the practical workflow steps in a logically structured menu – with new functions.
Menu contents:
PRESETTINGS
– Entering the guide scope focus
– Virtual alignment of the camera
– Focusing in live view
POLAR ALIGNMENT
– Whether the pole region is visible or not, the RA axis can be quickly aligned correctly in both hemispheres – without a polar scope.
SETTING EXPOSURE SEQUENCES
– Four different exposure sequences (e.g. 10×15s, 20×30s, 10×60s, 30×5s) can be programmed.
– They can be executed either per sequence or alternated.
– Dithering can be freely combined with the exposure sequences, or switched off.
PUSH GOTO
– The direction of the target object is shown with an arrow on the zoomable star map of the hand controller (“push”: in which direction to move the device).
– Includes the complete Messier, NGC, IC, LBN and Sh2 catalog data.
– Coordinates of a desired object can also be entered.
AUTOGUIDING
– The MGEN’s legendary “multistar autoguiding” module learns and selectively forgets the mount’s responses to guide impulses.
– It is capable of evaluating up to 99 star positions simultaneously.
– Declination correction can be enabled or disabled.
USER MANUAL
– To always have it at hand, the user manual for each function can be displayed directly on the MGEN screen.
